Travelling Exhibitions

Sharing the wealth of Sheikh Faisal's unique collections is intrinsic to the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum, and we are passionate about creating exhibits that inform and delight. Our team of curators has staged many exhibits at the museum, and also beyond its walls, inspired by its diverse collections of Islamic arts, coins, vehicles and Qatar heritage.

In July 2012, a special exhibition called 'Beauty of Words' celebrated over 100 distinct types of Islamic calligraphy. Curated from the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Museum's collections, the exhibit was held at Katara Cultural Village. The 'Beauty of Words' then travelled to Sharjah, UAE, in cooperation with the American University of Sharjah where it was inaugurated under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS).

The museum is proud to have taken part in this initiative which aimed to create a regional network that merges academia and the arts, empowering students and alumni to interact in the UAE and beyond, exposing them to the most distinguished and unique artworks.
