How did you come to hear of FBQ Museum, through whom, where or when?
Years before we even knew that we would move one day to Doha, a Dutch friend of mine already told me about the FBQ Museum. She used to come to Qatar for her work at Stenden University Qatar. H.E. Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani is Patron of this University. My friend instilled a great interest in me and my family for the amazing and unique FBQ museum collection. Join us for this prestigious performance in celebration of Qatar National Day 2017. Enjoy an evening at the open-air amphitheatre with a performance by the renowned MAias Alyamani and the MAqam Ensemble.
MAqam is considered as one of the most famous music groups in the Middle East. MAias established “MAqam Ensmble” in 2006 in Vienna and specialized in classical Arabic music. In this concert they will perform the original repertoire composed and arranged by MAias and a few other composers.
This concert will be sponsored by Plaza Hollandi and Fifty One East.
IAID's Visual & Studio Arts Student Exhibition
IAID opened their student's winter exhibition: Heart of Passion on Friday 1st December at FBQ Gallery. The event featured multiple performances, prize-giving ceremonies and the official opening of the exhibition. The exhibition can be visited during regular museum hours from the 1st December 2017 to the 1st January 2018.
FBQ Museum Premiere Concert - Winners of QNMC
FBQ Museum was proud to inaugurate its prominent amphitheatre as a brand new stage in Qatar for the performing arts with its premiere concert on November 10th.
The concert featured winners of the First Edition of the Qatar National Music Competition that took place from October 15th - 17th October 2017 at Katara Drama Theater, revealing the best of Qatar’s musical talents.
The concert that included Arab as well as Western music performances by talented young artists was organized in collaboration with Moving Young Artists and sponsored by Fifty One East.
Cultural Tour at FBQ Museum for members of Isotopes & Expo Conference Qatar
The 9th International Conference On Isotopes & Expo – Qatar ran between the 12th and 16th of November. The conference participants went on a cultural tour to the Al Shahaniya Camel Race Track and were later received at FBQ Museum for an exclusive farm and museum visit followed by a gala dinner at the FBQ Majlis.
