Stenden University Qatar Bids Farewell to President of Applied Sciences

Stenden University Qatar hosted a farewell event under the Patronage of HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani at FBQ Museum for the former President of Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Mr Leendert Klaassen on Sunday 3rd December 2017. HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani inaugrated and engaged guests from Stenden University Netherlands, VIP’s, students and Alumni from Stenden University Qatar.

To Doha With Love by MAias Alyamani & MAqam Ensemble

In celebration of Qatar National Day 2017, visitors enjoyed an evening at the open-air FBQ Courtyard on Saturday 9th December 2017, with a prestigious performance by the renowned MAias Alyamani and the MAqam Ensemble.

MAqam is considered as one of the most famous music groups in the Middle East. MAias established “MAqam Ensmble” in 2006 in Vienna and specialized in classical Arabic music. At FBQ Museum they performed the original repertoire composed and arranged by MAias and a few other composers.

The concert was sponsored by Plaza Hollandi and Fifty One East.

Qatar UK Alumni Visit

The Qatar UK Alumni visited FBQ Museum for an exclusive event on Saturday 2nd December 2017. HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani personally guided HE Ajay Sharma, the British ambassador and his family throughout FBQ Museum. The British Council planned a brilliant evening with several engaging activities followed by a gala dinner in context of the ongoing British festival.

IAID's Visual & Studio Arts Student Exhibition

IAID opened their student's winter exhibition: Heart of Passion on Friday 1st December at FBQ Gallery. The event featured multiple performances, prize-giving ceremonies and the official opening of the exhibition. The exhibition remained open from the 1st December 2017  to the 1st January 2018. 8 winners were selected from the exhibition and their works have remained on display at FBQ Museum.

FBQ Museum Premiere Concert - Winners of QNMC

FBQ Museum was proud to inaugurate its prominent amphitheatre as a brand new stage in Qatar for the performing arts with its premiere concert on Friday 10th November.

The concert featured winners of the First Edition of the Qatar National Music Competition that took place from 15th - 17th October 2017 at Katara Drama Theater, revealing the best of Qatar’s musical talents.

The concert that included Arab, as well as Western music performances by talented young artists, was organized in collaboration with Moving Young Artists and sponsored by Fifty One East.

Cultural Tour at FBQ Museum for members of Isotopes & Expo Conference Qatar

The 9th International Conference On Isotopes & Expo – Qatar ran between 12th-16th November 2017. The conference participants went on a cultural tour to the Al Shahaniya Camel Race Track and were later received at FBQ Museum for an exclusive farm and museum visit followed by an award-giving ceremony and gala dinner at the FBQ Majlis.

EU Ambassadors Visit

The European Union ambassadors to Qatar visited FBQ Museum with their families for an exclusive tour with HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani on Friday 13th October 2017. Their visit included a tour of Al Samriyah Farm, a special talk from HE Sheikh Faisal and lunch at the FBQ Majlis.

Eid Al Adha 2017 at FBQ Museum!

From 1st to 4th September 2017 FBQ Museum organized a wide range of activities at its facilities. Specialized tours focusing on Qatar Heritage, Indian objects and Persian objects – including the famous Double Sided Carpet – were on offer as well as carpet workshops for kids. The Museum Photo studio invited guests to have their photos taken in a traditional setup and local costumes, as well as live calligraphic writing
